Cavallino-Treporti is the perfect destination for bike lovers. The numerous bike paths and itineraries will let you discover the wonders hidden between the sea and the lagoon. Here we share only some of our favourite itineraries.
Cavallino – Old town Jesolo
Jesolo is a nice little town and thank to the 500 km paths can be easily explored on your bike. This itinerary starts from Junior Family Resort and ends at Jesolo Old Town but once in Jesolo you can bike on 12 paths in the city. You will bike both on paths and on uneven ground. From Junior Family Resort, cross the main street Via Fausta and proceed on the bike path along Corso Europa. Continue on the bike path and at the second roundabout bike toward Piazza S.Maria Elisabetta in Cavallino.Take a look at the beautiful old church on the square. Behind the horse monument there is a hidden scenic bike path that goes along the “Casson” canal. Turn left ond cross over the locks. From this point on you will bike on uneven paths long the Sile river.At the end of the uneven path you will be in Via Drago, turn right toward the town hall and explore the little town center.The way back can be on the same path or trough Jesolo downtown.
Cavallino – Jesolo beach
This route is entirely on bike paths and it is almost 9 km each way, depending on where you want to stop.Jesolo is a lively town during the summer season, with lots of shops, restaurants and beach bars. This itinerary ends in Via Bafile, the main street that goes along the strip where you will find lots of shops and restaurants. Bikes are not allowed on the path that goes along the beach, so you will have carry your bike.From Junior Family Resort, cross Via Fausta and proceed on the bike path along Corso Europa. At the second roundabout turn left toward Piazza S.Maria Elisabetta. Take a look at the beautiful old church on the square. Behind the horse monument just past the kayak rental booth “Laguniamo” is a hidden scenic bike path along the “Casson” canal. At the end of this path turn right under the bridge and stay on the left end side. Turn right at the end of the bridge. You are now in Jesolo. Follow the bike path and then turn right to reach Piazza Nember. From there continue along the street to Piazza Mazzini.This is Jesolo’s main square and Via Bafile begins here. Enjoy shopping, lunch or an ice cream before coming back!
Cavallino – Punta Sabbioni
This tour is almost 23 km long, make sure you bring enough water, especially in summer as some of the paths are not in the shade. From Junior Family Resort cross the main street Via Fausta and bike path in Corso Europa. At the second roundabout turn left towards Via Pordelio to find the recently created bike path along the lagoon. At the moment this scenic path ends just before Cà Ballarin. Here turn left and bike through via della Fonte to go back to the main bike path in Via Fausta. At Cà Savio turn right and bike through the center of the town where you can stop for a coffee of to shop in one of the nice new shops in Via Treportina. At the end of the town turn left on the cobblestone path before the bridge. You will have lots of photo opportunities along this path along the Pordelio canal. At the end of the path you will bike on the street until you reach the ferry terminal, than turn around to come back on the bike path on Via Fausta. If you wish to check out the beach, continue straight ahead to the lighthouse where you can enjoy a spritz or an ice cream at the beach kiosk or even spot dolphins!
Cavallino – Pellestrina
This itinerary starts from the ferry terminal in Punta Sabbioni. You can reach the terminal by car or bike. From Junior Family Resort turn left and drive or bike (on the bike path) all the way down to the ferry terminal. Once there you can park your car for approximately 7 € per day and board the ferry boat. Remember to buy a ticket also for your bike! The first stop is at Venice Lido. Get off and bike towards “Alberoni” on your right where you will board the next ferry boat. You are now in Pellestrina at S.Pietro in Volta. Not far from the ferry terminal you can enjoy a nice lunch at “Le Valli” agritourism. Continuing on towards the small village of Portosecco you will reach the old town of Pellestrina. Here, another not to be missed dining experience is the at “da Memo” a very famous restaurant specialised in fish. The most experienced bikers should probably not miss a visit to the Cà Roman Natural Oasis and continue to the very end of the island where another ferryboat can take you all the way to the city of Chioggia. Make sure to plan this excursion according to the ferry schedule.
Cavallino – Lio Piccolo
From Junior Family Resort turn left on Via Fausta and stay on the bike path until your reach Cà Savio then turn right, pass the town center and continue straight on the drawbridge. You are heading now to the nice little town of Treporti, where you can find lots of good fish restaurants. Past the center of the town you will get to the town’s cemetery where you will make a right turn and bike along the Saccagnana Canal. When you reach the restaurant “Pupi”turn left as the signs indicate and you will find yourselves in the middle of the “barene” the unique landscape that will take your breath away.
Jesolo – Treviso
If you are a bike lover this itinerary is perfect for you. It starts from Jesolo old town. The itinerary is 52 meters long. The bike path is still not finished in some points and runs along the Sile river. Bike along the new bike path along via Salsi to Caposile. After about 600 mt take a sharp right onto Argine S.Marco after 500 mt turn onto via Marzi after 250 turn onto via Principe until you come across the EverardoTowerand continue to via Everardo for 800 mt until Casale sul Sile then Rivalta to reach Casier. Continue along the Casier river and then on the ciclovia del Sile which is an old train route. At this point you can continue along the Sile river or bike toward Treviso city center and enjoy the rest of your adventure!
