Cavallino-Treporti bike routes

JUMP ON YOUR BIKE AND RIDE THROUGH CAVALLINO-TREPORTI

Easy and safe cycle-pedestrian routes to visit the whole area as a couple or with the family. Junior Family provides a bike rental service to its guests and all the information for the numerous bike paths of the area.

The second section of the longest panoramic bike path in Europe was inaugurated on Tuesday 5 July 2022.

A panoramic route suspended over the Venice lagoon that offers breathtaking landscapes and amazing sunsets.

It overlooks the Pordelio canal and connects Cavallino to Ca ‘Savio, a 7 km cycle-pedestrian path with 4 rest areas, illuminated and therefore accessible even at night.

This new cycle path joins the already numerous Cavallino – Treporti routes that cross the entire coast, revealing scenarios and places that tell the story of our land.

You can choose to cycle to discover the forts of the Great War, along the bank of the river, the northern lagoon that can be crossed with ferry boats, or along country roads to see our splendid gardens, greenhouses and crops up close.

Discovering the Cavallino – Treporti lagoon

The Venetian Lagoon is a unique environment, it is rich in history, islands to explore and fauna to admire!

A delicate balance between water and land, sandbanks and “ghebi” (minor canals), make it a magnificent area dotted with more than fifty islands.

Would you like to explore it on your own?

The best way to do it is surrounded by nature’s silence on a kayak or with one of Laguniamo’s electric boats,… don’t you worry, both activities are suitable even for beginners!

Laguniamo is the name of a young business that rents out kayaks and motor or electric boats that don’t require a skipper or licence.

It is located in Piazza Santa Maria Elisabetta in Cavallino, in a strategic position near protected valleys and navigable canals, off the beaten track.

With the aid of a map and after the staff’s briefing on the rules of navigation, you will be free to cruise in the calm waters of the unique and magic northern lagoon to admire the myriad species of birds and the historic Cavallino-Treporti area from a whole new perspective.

If you want to experience something unique and out of the ordinary, you can book of the many excursions organized by Laguniamo, such as the aperitif at the “Barena” Restaurant or the moonlight canoe trips.

Around us: Golf courses

If you are a golf lover Junior Family Resort is the perfect destination even if the rest of your family don’t play golf. While your family enjoys a day on the beach you can run off for a 9 hole round in the morning. Moreover if you are a family of golfers you can take a break from your rounds by relaxing by the pool or on our beach. Jesolo Golf Club is only 15 minutes away from Junior family Resort but you can easily plan a trip to Venice or Caorle. Here are the nearest golf clubs to our resort. At Junior Family Resort we can store your golf bag, help you with booking your tee times and organising transfers to and from the golf courses.

Jesolo Golf Club

At Jesolo Golf Club you can play all year long, due to the sandy ground underneath the grass.

Jesolo Golf Club has 18 Holes, a practice range, 1 practice putting green and 2 practice holes. The local golf pro speaks English and you can book individual and group lessons.

The Dolce Vita bar and restaurant at the Clubhouse offers lunch, snacks and aperitifs. You can book golf carts, clubs and tee times at the reception desk.

There are lockers and changing facilities at the Clubhouse.

Pra delle Torri Golf Club Caorle

Prà delle Torri Golf Club is a par 72 golf course overlooking the sea. This course is only 30 minutes away from Junior Family Resort. It is perfect for beginners but the winds and pin positions can make it challenging for the more expert golfers. This course is open during winter.

The Club has a restaurant, bar, a small Clubhouse and lockers.

Venice Golf Club

Venice Golf Club is on the island of Venice Lido. It is one of the oldest clubs in the region. The first 9 holes have been designed by architect Cruikshank della Maxwell M. Hart from Glasgow in 1928. The most prestigious amateur tournament “il Leone di Venezia” is held here.

The 18 holes course has spectacular views and it is very challenging, a par 72 and 6199 mt long from the white tees. It is located between the Adriatic Sea and the Venetian lagoon. The North Eastern and Scirocco Winds make it sometimes more challenging to reach the greens protected by the bunkers.

Lignano Golf Club

Lignano Golf Club is a beautiful 18 holes course in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It’s a par 72 and it was designed by architect Marco Croze. The course features long fairways wide greens and vast natural sand ares. Some prestigious tournaments such as the 1993 and 1994 Ladies Italian Open, the 2008 PGA’s Champions Trophy of Europe, the 2012 and 2015 Alps Tour Servizitalia Open and the 2017 Lignano Open have been hosted here.

Lignano Golf Club is 1 hour and 5 minutes away from Junior Family Resort but we are sure it’s worth the trip. Tee times must be reserved in advance.

FOR HISTORY LOVERS: VIA DEI FORTI ROUTE – Cavallino-Treporti

“Via dei Forti” is an open-air museum that aims to enhance and link the fortifications distributed along the coast of Cavallino-Treporti through a path between nature and memories of the territory whose hub is the Pisani Battery.

An historical route, an open-air diffuse museum circuit that links the fortifications belonging to the period 1845-1920. Among those the Amalfi Battery and the Treporti Fort, in Punta Sabbioni. It is possible to visit the restored Pisani Battery, today turned into a museum. Inside there are exhibitions that will lead you to discover the history that connects Cavallino Treporti to the Great War.

Bike and Boat – Excursion to Lio Piccolo and the Northern Lagoon of Venice

Escursione fino a Lio Piccolo: andata in bici, ritorno in Barca.
Partenza ore 14:00 rientro in hotel alle ore 17:30
Percorreremo il nuovo tratto della pista ciclabile sulla laguna affiancando il Canale Pordelio, attraverseremo il paese di Treporti per poi raggiungere Lio Piccolo percorrendo la strada che attraversa la laguna. Visiteremo la chiesetta e il museo, faremo le foto al caratteristico campanile e, se fortunati, anche ai fenicotteri rosa.
Alle 16:30 saliremo in barca con le nostre bici per fare rientro a Cavallino.
Contributo spesa per la barca 12€, da pagare in loco.
Obbligatoria l’iscrizione, massimo 12 persone (escursione con un minimo di 6 partecipanti).
Si potranno usare gratuitamente le bici del Junior Family Hotel o noleggiare quelle elettriche presso Cavallino Rent Bike, Corso Europa 3.
